The US drone program has been hacked. It's some kind of self replicating worm that they can't get rid of. Every time they start again from zero with a clean slate, it just re-appears. It allows whoever is responsible to know the exact instructions given the drone, and the fear is that in time it may allow instructions to be altered, e.g., nothing theoretically to stop a drone hitting the white house. China is suspected as the source, but that's pure guess work; it could easily be some anonymous group like anonymous.

The unmanned surveillance plane lost by the United States in Iran was a stealth aircraft being used for secret missions by the CIA, U.S. officials said Monday [December 5, 2011].
The officials said Iran’s military appears to be in possession of one of the more sensitive surveillance platforms in the CIA’s fleet, an aircraft that was shaped and designed to evade enemy defenses.
